Kreaton Cutajar Appointed New Executive Chef at Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort

PHUKET, Thailand (31 August 2022) – Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort has appointed season culinary professional, Kreaton Cutajar, as the resort’s new Executive Chef.

Kreaton brings over two decades of diverse experience across brands such as St. Regis, Banyan Tree and Six Senses to the F&B outlets in Phuket. The Maltese national has worked in some of the world’s top kitchens including the Michelin star Wild Honey and Tom Aikens restaurants in London, and honed his skills in some of the most luxurious resorts around the world.

Kreaton will oversee the operations of all four food and beverage outlets including the resort’s two main dining venues, The Pool House Kitchen and Mizu Teppanyaki Restaurant, while upholding Hyatt’s commitment to sourcing the most sustainable and seasonal products from Thailand.

Prior to joining Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort, Kreaton was the Executive Chef at Six Senses Con Dao on Con Dao Island in Vietnam, and also worked as the Executive Chef for Banyan Tree Lang Co in Vietnam, and the brand’s flagship resort, Banyan Tree Phuket.

Inspired by French cuisine for its techniques and the freshness and flavors of Italian and Mediterranean fare, Kreaton’s culinary flair and passion are sure to elevate the overall dining experiences at Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort, home to the island’s best bars and restaurants.

Kreaton spearheads a team of nearly thirty staff. As a mentor and a leader, Kreaton endeavors to curate dishes that are creative, colorful and full of seasonal ingredients while having fun in the kitchen. He has a particular interest in local and sustainable goods, in line with Hyatt’s ethos, and constantly strives to create exceptional meals that reduce diners’ carbon footprint.

Kreaton will focus on strengthening the food concepts at the resort while overseeing the launch of various contemporary food and beverage concepts including themed dining events and the legendary Social Brunch at The Pool House Kitchen every Sunday.
