Phuket Travel: A Stylish Getaway Experience

Phuket Travel: A Stylish Getaway Experience

Travel Phuket in Style

Phuket travel is always a good idea, especially with the ‘We Travel Together’ Thailand program. Whether for a family vacation, a romantic getaway, or even a business outing, Phuket has plenty to excite and exhilarate as well as relax and unwind your body and your mind. This international island destination offers gorgeous beaches, crystal clear waters with colourful aquatic life, lush rainforest jungle trails, historic districts full of multicultural influences, and so much more. Those seeking a more social scene can lounge at a trendy beach club or café, dine at MICHELIN-recognized eateries, or dance the night away to DJs spinning at rooftop bars at a 5 star hotel in Phuket.

As you embark on your Phuket travels, here are some attractions and activities that you may not want to miss out on during your visit to the Pearl of the Andaman!

Island Fun at Phang Nga Bay

You do not have to be a fan of The Man with the Golden Gun to appreciate the beauty of Phang Nga Bay. You may find that James Bond Island pales in comparison to the other limestone formations. Saltwater, along with time and Mother Nature, has carved out breathtaking caves and coves for you to kayak around. Or you can dive in and snorkel or scuba among the coral reefs. Either way, you may discover a little deserted spot among the mangroves in this most stunning of Phuket attractions.

Mix it up with Muay Thai

Phuket Travel: A Stylish Getaway Experience

Muay Thai, or Thai boxing, has gained international attention as not only a martial art but as a way to get in shape and as an amazing spectacle. At Patong Boxing Stadium on Sainamyen Road, you can experience an authentic Muay Thai match with cheering crowds, as well as sign up for a lesson or two. Over at Bangla Boxing Stadium, they offer Muay Thai matches as well as MMA bouts with fighters from around the world.

Soak in Rich Culture in Phuket Town

Among the countless Phuket landmarks, none encapsulates the spirit of the island’s culture more than Phuket Town. The Sino-Portuguese / Colonial architecture has been meticulously maintained and is home to tasty cafés, trendy boutiques, and quaint B&B joints. If you are in the area on a Sunday evening, stop by the Lard Yai Market on Thalang Road. The street comes alive with vendors of all sorts to satisfy foodies and shoppers alike, as well as live entertainment. For an everyday walking street vibe, you can make your way to the Oasis Thalang market in an alley that connects Dibuk Road to Thalang Road.

Beautiful Views from Big Buddha

Phuket Travel: A Stylish Getaway Experience

Buddhism is the main religion of Thailand and it plays a big part in Thai society. You could be satisfied with seeing Big Buddha from anywhere around the Karon area of Phuket. You can get a glim of its beauty from the ground since it is 45 meters of marble situated on top of a peak with an elevation of about 400 meters. There is a road you can drive up to the Big Buddha’s temple, or you can opt for an invigorating one-hour hike up the mountain. Either way, you will be rewarded with tremendous views of Karon and out to the sea. Please note that this is a Buddhist temple, so an appropriate dress code may apply.

Express Yourself at Phuket Art Village

It should be no surprise that Phuket attracts artists, as its history, culture, and natural beauty, as well as the laidback island lifestyle, can be inspiring. In Rawai, the Phuket Art Village is a community where artisans from many disciplines congregate and share their unique creations. Watch the artists in action up close or perch from a balcony of what could be a treehouse with a coffee or a beer. You could even find that ideal piece to take home as a reminder of your Phuket travel experience!

Dine On The Water from Laem Hin Pier

Never mind waterfront restaurants. You can dine literally on the water at one of the floating restaurants off Laem Hin Pier. There are free shuttles from the pier to any number of restaurants to choose from, brimming with the freshest catches prepared with traditional Thai techniques. You can enjoy wonderful cuisine with unique island views and then head back to land on a shuttle to carry on your island getaway.

Walk On the Wild Side on The Bangla Road

Patong is famous, or infamous, for its nightlife, so if you want to let your hair down or wish to wander among the neon lights, Bangla Road is the place to go. It is no longer just a bastion of go-go bars, there are also pulsing dance clubs, live music venues, and restaurants with cuisines from all around the world. Not necessarily kid-friendly, but there is a lot going on after sunset at this adult playground.

Cool off at the Waterfalls of Khao Phra Thaeo

While the warm sands and cool beaches of Phuket are its main attractions, there are also diverse ecosystems further inland on the island. Khao Phra Thaeo is the island’s greatest evergreen rainforest, located well inland from the northeast coast. You can start off with a cooling visit to the Ton Sai Waterfall near the park’s entrance, then take the four-kilometre trail to Bang Pae Waterfall for another refreshing stop. Along the way, you would see many birds and reptile creatures, such as red-legged crakes and box turtles. And while the langurs, civets, and other larger mammals tend to stay away from the trails, there is a gibbon rehabilitation centre you can visit near Bang Pae Waterfall.
